Montego Bay Convention Centre Home to CHTA Marketplace CHTA, founded in 1962, represents the entire spectrum of the hospitality industry’s private sector including 36 national hotel associations across the Caribbean region, over 600 hotel members with approximately 91,000 rooms, and more than 300 supplier companies represented as ‘Allied’ members. Jamaica’s tourism leaders reported success at the 2014 CHTA Caribbean Marketplace held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre January 12 – 14, 2014 and are optimistic about future developments. During the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association-produced event, General Manager of the Centre Ms. Dittie Guise stated that the Montego Bay Convention Centre has significantly increased its revenue by the second year of operation. “I think hotels are also optimistic about their numbers for 2014 with some reporting higher forecasts than last year,” said Ms. Guise. “The industry is definitely on the rebound she added, and SMG along with the UDC will do its part in our commitment to Jamaica’s tourism industry.
