Montego Bay Convention Centre Wins Fifth World Travel Award
For the fifth consecutive year the ultra-modern SMG managed Montego Bay Convention Centre copped the much coveted World Travel Award for the ‘Caribbean’s Leading Meeting and Conference Centre. The prestigious awards dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry was held on October 17th 2015 at the Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas.
“We are extremely pleased with the continued recognition from the World Travel Awards body and by extension exposure of the excellent tourism product Jamaica has to offer to the world,” gushed Dittie Guise, General Manager, who stated that the Montego Bay Convention Centre is ideally located along the ‘Elegant Corridor’ in Rose Hall and forms part of an excellent synergy with award-winning hotels within the locale.

We have built an impressive brand and that is the international appeal of the centre, and what we have to offer is unparalleled within the Caribbean” Guise added.
She noted that the significance of the award is further heightened as the Centre is enjoying a bumper year in hosting some of the largest and most successful events attended by both local and international patrons including the Diaspora Conference, Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), JAMPRO Business Linkages, the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce Expo, Taste of Jamaica Culinary Competition, Jamaica Bridal Expo and Miss Jamaica World. “There is always something happening at the Montego Bay Convention Centre,” Guise boasts.
Currently undergoing extensive improvements to their product offerings, the Montego Bay Convention Centre owned by the Urban Development Corporation of Jamaica, has created an even more conducive environment for large and small scale events, while strengthening their online presence and pursuing advertising opportunities at the centre. “We are committed to providing the best possible facility and to constantly improve on it to maintain first world standards” promised the General Manager, Ms. Dittie Guise.
