Security Manager
JOB PURPOSE
This position ensures that all security personnel on the assigned shift are performing their assigned job duties. Additional duties include patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, and ensuring the safety of all guests, employees, and contract labour while on premises. This position secures property during the move in/out of all events and performs all assigned duties personally or through subordinates. Ensure clients adhere to parking policies and rules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Supervises and assigns security shift staff.
- Conducts shift briefings with staff providing necessary information.
- Reviews department checklist and accounts for all equipment
- Notifies supervisor of necessary employee counselling
- Secures property.
- Locks and unlocks facility doors.
- Conducts routine property walks.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
- Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.
- Works with local Fire and Police Departments to secure off-duty details.
- Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
- In collaboration with the Human Resource Manager, interview, hire and train employees.
- In conjunction with Human Resources, conduct performance reviews, reward, and discipline employees.
- Address complaints and resolve problems from employees and clients.
- Monitors equipment, supplies, and parts inventories needed to support field activity.
- Responsible for leading safety meetings and performing facility inspections.
- Safety and Security - Observe safety and security procedures.
- Assist in maintaining all MBCC policies and procedures and develop all MBCC safety programs.
- Address all customer service issues that arise before, during and after an event
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration
- Experience in related field: 3 years
- Supervisory experience required

AUTHORITY
- Directly supervises employees in the Security & Parking Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with MBCC’s policies and applicable laws.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Considerable amount of walking, climbing, stooping and possibly heavy lifting.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- This position may be subjected to adverse conditions, including physical contact from hostile people.
