Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Security & Parking Manager ensures that all security personnel on the assigned shift are performing their assigned job duties. Additional duties include patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labour while on premises. This position secures property during the move in/out of trade shows, conventions or events, and performs the following duties personally or through subordinates. The incumbent is responsible for internal and external investigations, fraud, and forgery issues, facility security, coordination of surveillance equipment and activities, and the overall management of the organization loss prevention and inventory shrink programs.
- Planning and implementing comprehensive security strategies.
- Controlling the security operations budget, monitoring expenses, and documenting processes.
- Coordinating responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compiling incident reports.
- Gathering security intelligence and implementing preventatives measures.
- Supervises and assigns security shift staff.
- Conducts shift briefings providing necessary information.
- Reviews department checklist and accounts for all equipment.
- Preparing surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitating repairs in a timely manner.
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments and practices as required to ensure loss.prevention and safety best practices are adhered to in all locations.
- Ensure that all buildings, vehicles and parking lots are secured.
- Review, investigate, and report on the causes of inventory shrinkage and safety incidents with recommendations and action plans to address the causes.
- Secures property.

- Reports to the Director of Operations and the General Manager all accidents, irregularities and incidents.
- Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
- Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.
- Works with local Fire and Police Departments to secure off-duty details.
- Works independently, and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with emphasis, in security/ risk management.
- Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Extensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performance access control.
- Security training, licensing, and registration.
- In-depth knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment.
- Knowledge of security industry regulations.
- Advanced ability to coordinate responses to security breaches and threats.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Superb leadership and organizational abilities.
- Availability to respond to security alert outside of business hours.
- Valid General driver’s license required.
