Ready to help steer a dynamic organization at the intersection of tourism, business, and national development? The Montego Bay Convention Centre (MBCC)—Jamaica’s leading venue for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)—is looking for a sharp, analytical, and proactive Audit and Risk Officer to join our growing team.
As our Audit and Risk Officer, you will help uphold MBCC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and operational excellence. You’ll lead internal audits, support compliance, and champion our risk management framework, ensuring we meet both Government of Jamaica regulations and international best practices.
This is a strategic role that directly supports the Executive Director in driving operational efficiency, policy adherence, and proactive risk mitigation across all departments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development, execution, and refinement of MBCC’s internal audit systems and controls.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements including FAA Act, Public Bodies Act, and Ministry of Finance directives.
- Build and execute annual audit plans, ensuring timely and impactful reporting.
- Support the design and execution of risk mitigation plans, policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Partner with unit heads to strengthen risk awareness and resilience across the organization.
- Contribute to business continuity strategies, disaster recovery planning, and process redesigns.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting or ACCA Level II.
- At least 3 years of audit or enterprise risk experience, ideally with exposure to the hospitality, tourism, or public sector.
- Working knowledge of GOJ financial legislation and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Professional certifications in risk management or auditing (desirable).
